In the wee hours of the morning, between the few hours of sleep I got last night, I jotted up the narrator’s intro to the musical I’m playing with. On lunch break? A few example conversations, some basis for psychological impetus, and a few supporting quotes from other authors to use in my foundation.
The first I remain happy with, even though it probably makes absolutely no sense to anyone else. Which I shouldn’t be ok with, if that’s the case, even if the character is all rambly. I should run it by a particularly quirky friend of mine for feedback. Friend, you’re getting an email.
The conversations need work. A lot. And I need to figure out how to make it all flow without being all verbose. Which brings me to…
Question: Do I worry about being extraordinarily longwinded now, or having too much going on, etc? Or do I just write, and worry about it after the draft or the section of the draft is complete?
